noisy cockpit; constant background noise in my headsetReview by Ron M. on on 6/7/2014

I would like to say 'thanks' and 'bravo' to Abram and Pilot Communication USA!!! I have a 1946 Ercoupe that I fly on a regular basis. As some of you may know they have a very noisy cockpit; at least mine does. I use a David Clark headset for myself but have an older model Marv Golden passive headset for my passengers. The MG works fine except it picks up all the cockpit noise, especially the engine noise, when I begin to advance the throttle. At full power or even cruise you hear the constant noise in the MG headset; even bleeds over into my DC headset. I tried another better passive headset but still had the same problem. On the advice of Marv at Marv Golden I called Abram at Pilot communications. Abram explained what my problem was and offered a solution: the PA-9EHN mic for noisy environments. He even offered a refund if it didn't solve the problem. Abram sent me the mic, which easily attached to the MG headset, and 'viola' - problem solved!!!! No more constant noise when the engine runs up and the side tone and sound quality in the MG is now second to none. I highly recommend this mic for anybody who is having a similar problem with noise in the cockpit. Abram, it was a pleasure dealing with you; thank for solving my problem!!
