Pilot USA Inc. introduced 4 new BOSE® adapters for aviation headsets. Users of BOSE® can now use their cell phone with their BOSE® X aviation headset. Two of the cell/satellite phone models introduced – model PA-86B un-amplified version, model PA-86AB amplified version. Pilots can order fuel, get weather advice, and flight information using their cell phone while on the ground in the aircraft using their BOSE® headset. The pilot’s cell phone can also be used for back-up in case the aircraft radio fails. Pilot USA also introduced model PA-89 which adapts a BOSE® single plug headset to twin plugs for use in aircraft not fitted with the BOSE® power jack. The adapter comes with a 9V battery box and is fitted with twin plugs (PJ-055/PJ-068) for general aviation. And for users of the panel mounted version of the BOSE® headset, the PA-93 adapter allows a general aviation headset to be plugged into the BOSE® panel power jack. The adapter is wired so that that no power comes through the headset adapter protecting the integrity of the headset.
